| Margaret Officer, Trainer |

Ms. Officer has been an adjunct instructor at Nashville State Tech Community College and coordinated the Tutoring Services department there. She was a design consultant with the Leonard Bernstein Center and supervised intern teachers for Nashville's Belmont College. As a classroom teacher, Ms. Officer taught elementary and middle school students in Metro Nashville Davidson County Schools and served as a Career Ladder evaluator for the state of Tennessee. Ms. Officer is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University with a B.S. in education and has a Master's in education from Middle Tennessee State University. She is a Career Level III teacher and a Pilot Teacher for the Leonard Bernstein Center and Project Zero. She has been named to the Association of Science and Technology Centers' Teacher Honor Roll for efforts in schools, museums, and communities. She currently serves on the MRSH Module Development Task Force.

| Dr. Sally Pamplin, Trainer |

Dr. Pamplin received her B.A. in Elementary Education at Emory University; her M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education and her Ed.S. in Middle Grades Curriculum & Instruction at Georgia State University; and her Education Leadership at Nova Southeastern University. She taught in elementary and middle grades for 13 years and served as Curriculum and Teacher Support Specialist for 15 years. Dr. Pamplin is an active presenter at state, regional, and national education conferences. She has written and published instructional modules for science and social studies and served on Fulton County’s (GA) five-year Math Curriculum Revision and Social Studies Revision Committees writing curriculum and authentic assessments. She has provided staff development for teachers and trainers in the areas of math, science, written expression, and social studies. She has also trained in strategic plan designs, differentiated curriculum and assessments, and Understanding by Design (Best Practices). Dr. Pamplin has received awards for her work in the school system and community and is the 2005 recipient of the Environmental Educator’s Outstanding Service Award for her volunteer work with educators, students, community partners, and state organizations to facilitate learning through service-based initiatives. |

| Betty Parrott, Trainer |

Betty Parrott has 33 years experience as an elementary, middle, and high school teacher. Much of her classroom experience was in an inclusion setting, which included daily planning with a special education teacher and shared teaching responsibilities for all of the students in the classroom. For the last 8 years, she has held a Curriculum Facilitator position at the middle school level, providing staff development and coaching/mentoring to teachers and developing collaborative planning schedules for all subjects and grades. She has been a workshop presenter at various colleges as well as local, state, and national education conferences. Ms. Parrott earned her bachelor of science degree in intermediate education from Appalachian State University and her master’s and reading specialist certification from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She also has certification in the areas of advanced learner education and new teacher mentoring. |

| Diane Permenter, Trainer |

| Ms. Permenter is a Bilingual/ESL Coordinator for the Garland Independent School District in Garland, Texas. Since assuming this role in June, 1997, her primary responsibilities have involved providing ongoing staff development for the expressed purpose of positively impacting professional growth and student achievement; developing curriculum for middle and high school ESL students; developing a BE/ESL Program Manual; supervising the BE/ESL Lead Teacher Program (Gr. PreK-12); developing elementary ESL curriculum (Gr. K-5); and documenting, as well as providing, administrative leadership for the BE/ESL Summer School Program. She received a Master of Education in Bilingual Education in May 1997, and another Master of Education in Educational Administration in August, 1997, both from Texas A&M. Her undergraduate degree is from Baylor University, and she has a Master of Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. |

| Carmen R. Pough, Trainer |

Ms. Pough has over 20 years of progressively responsible experience within the education field. She earned her B.S. in Human Ecology from Hampton University (Summa cum Laude Graduate) and her Master's degree in education from South Carolina State University. She is currently an Education Program Associate with the South Carolina Department of Education and has extensive experience in directing local, state, and regional training activities; staff development programs; conferences; and workshops. Ms. Pough has experience in training and motivating individuals of diverse ages and backgrounds. |

| Amelia Ragland, Trainer |

Amelia Ragland received her bachelor of science degree in business education from the University of Alabama. She has worked for the Huntsville City School system, Huntsville, AL for 17 years, where she taught business education before becoming the High Schools That Work coordinator in 1997. She continues to work with both middle and high schools to develop school improvement initiatives based on the High Schools That Work framework. Ms. Ragland received formal training in “Literacy Across the Curriculum” and has conducted workshops for both middle and high school academic and career/technical teachers, providing instructional strategies in reading and writing across the curriculum. |

| Karen R. Reynolds, Trainer |

Ms. Reynolds holds a Bachelor's degree in education and Master's in school administration from Indiana University and has completed 32 hours of post-graduate work in school leadership and administration from Butler University. Ms. Reynolds brings experience in classroom teaching in public schools as well as school administration at the elementary, secondary, and central office levels. She has been working with MRSH since its pilot phase in large inner city, suburban, and rural districts across the United States. She specializes in helping administrators and school leadership teams design and guide the improvement efforts in their schools. She also works individually with principals as they lead their schools through changes and transitions.
She currently serves on the MRSH Leadership Task Force.

| Dolly Richardson, Trainer |

Ms. Richardson worked in a self-contained fifth grade classroom for one year, as a middle school media specialist for 23 years, as a lead teacher/instructional technology specialist at the district level for four years, and for an educational software company training K-12 teachers to use IMSeries for three years. She has her B.A. in elementary education/library science. |

| Janie Robinson, Trainer |

Ms. Robinson holds a B.A. in English and an M.A. plus thirty in counseling. She taught secondary English and drama for 29 years in Kentucky, working with the Kentucky Education Reform Act. Ms. Robinson achieved statewide recognition for developing a theatre showcase based upon the Kentucky standards. Her most recent position with the Owensboro Public Schools was as a writing consultant working with both students and teachers to develop writing portfolios for their statewide testing program. Ms. Robinson has extensive experience assisting content-area teachers with improving their classroom-writing curriculum. Her ability to lead teachers and work with students has led the local school district to employ her to mentor students and score portfolios when she is available. Additionally, she has taught adult education and conducted private tutoring. |

| Dr. Maryanne Roesch, Trainer |

Dr. Roesch has five years of elementary general and special education classroom experience and 10 years as an elementary school principal. She has served in several different posts with Fairfax County Public Schools including Training Specialist, Office of Staff Development and Training, Director of Research and Policy Analysis, and Director of Office of Planning, Testing, and Evaluation. She has served as Adjunct Professor and advisor at a number of universities. She was appointed in 1992 as the NAESP representative to read proposals for the original New American Schools design call. Her consultant/trainer experiences are many and include work with NAESP in the Proficiency for Principals Program in the areas of curriculum and instruction. She received her B.S. in elementary education from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, her M.A. in elementary education from George Mason University, and her Ed.D. in educational administration from Vanderbilt University. |
